The formal role of Patient-in-Residence — a patient placed inside an institution not as a subject, but as a strategic voice — barely existed when I started. I've now held it at four institutions across three countries. The first time, I built the role from scratch.

Patient in Residence and founding Medical Advisory Board member. Part of a consortium of universities, clinicians, psychologists, and technology providers delivering digital health and telehealth aid to crisis zones — Ukraine, Turkey, Syria.

Acting interim CEO and first Patient-in-Residence & Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Health Hub Vienna. Developed patient-centric operational models, investor relations, and innovation strategy for a new staff.

First-ever Patient in Residence at Sheba Medical Center — one of the top 10 hospitals in the world. Part of the groundbreaking "Human Experience Officers" charter. Patient Experience Advisor to the CXO; member of the 2030 hospital plans steering committee.

A patient empowerment movement built on patient-centered design, empowered education, and collaborative healthcare. Helping patients and caregivers become leaders in their own care.

Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft — Patient in Residence

First-ever Patient in Residence and Patient Innovation Manager at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute Digital Health & Patient Safety — Austria's national health research institute. Built the role from scratch. Led three major initiatives: a national policy framework for patient involvement in research, a patient media strategy, and "Ludwig" — a companion app for cancer patients co-developed with IBM.

DoQme / VALERO

Clinical workflow automation and EMR data integration — cloud-based solution automating visit planning and documentation for in-person and telemedicine. Acquired by Anodyne Health.

2016–present

Dysautonomia Israel

Founded the Israeli Society for POTS and Dysautonomia. Transformed a five-year diagnostic gap with no healthcare recognition into a nationally recognised diagnosis, research, and rehabilitation program. Partnered with Sheba Medical Center to establish the national dysautonomia centre.

prolep.si

The first wireless ABPI diagnostics device — no tubes, no cables, smartphone-controlled. Designed to deliver diagnostics at a fraction of traditional cost. Accepted to the Bolt hardware accelerator (Frankfurt).

2013–2023

Project Hearts

Non-profit equipping underprivileged youth with life-saving skills globally. 10,000+ young people trained across programmes in Kathmandu, Shanghai, and Tel Aviv — teaching emergency response and life preservation beyond basic first aid.

Award-winning health literacy initiative implemented in dozens of schools and communities nationwide. National Student Social Entrepreneurship Award. Jewish Agency Social Entrepreneurship Fellow. Kibbutzim College Social Entrepreneurship Award.

Emergency response social network integrated with national infrastructure — disaster management, mobile response, and operational modules. Technology adopted by the Israeli National Ambulance Service; operational model globally adopted by EMS organisations. Finalist — Israeli Design Awards. Nokia Health Award Nominee.
